Pro Iowa Initiative secures $50,000 investment from Delta Dental of Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (Nov. 15, 2021) — Delta Dental of Iowa — a leader in the dental and vision insurance space — is the latest company to commit private funds to the Pro Iowa Initiative. The company’s $50,000 contribution will go toward the development of the Pro Iowa Stadium and Global Plaza in downtown Des Moines.

“As an Iowa-based company, we’re proud to support an Iowa-based initiative,” said Jeff Russell, president and CEO of Delta Dental of Iowa. “The Pro Iowa Stadium and Global Plaza will enhance the visual esthetic of downtown Des Moines, but — most importantly — it will provide an inclusive space for Iowans to come together, connect and celebrate as one community.”

The Iowa Soccer Development Foundation — the local nonprofit in charge of the fundraising efforts for the Pro Iowa Initiative — has raised more than $20.8 million to date toward its private funding goal.

“We are overwhelmed by the generous support from the local business community in response to this project,” said Charley Campbell, Iowa Soccer Development Foundation secretary. “The Pro Iowa dream is one step closer to reality with this donation from Delta Dental. We applaud their efforts to support the communities they serve and to help Iowans realize the Pro Iowa Stadium and Global Plaza as a place for our growing global community to stay connected and thrive.”

Construction of the Pro Iowa Stadium and Global Plaza will begin in 2022, with first kick anticipated in 2024.
